QuestionLast year I bought a pot of two different-colored brugmansia (angel's trumpets) from Cottage Farms on QVC. I followed directions, planting them in a large pot, and watering well and frequently; I also gave them fertilizer a few times during the summer. They grew well but never bloomed. I wintered them over and took them outside again this spring, cutting them back a bit. Again, they have grown a good deal and leafed out but still show no sign of blooming (nearly the end of July) except for small growth in the leaf nodes. What can I do to get flowers? I'm very disappointed.
AnswerHi Dara....the blooms will come as long as it is in direct Sun and isn't over fertilized with a high Nitrogen fertilizer (which encourages greenery at the expense of blooms..)...keep it moderately watered (don't allow it to dry out..)....fertilize with a slow release for flowering plants,,,this way it won't get too much...other then that....they are very easy to grow,,and usually bloom profusely...Nick
