Nick, I spoke with you earlier about the foxtail fern that belonged to my dad and was abused after his death. I treated the scale insects, watered, and provided light in the ways you suggested however the plant looks completely dead now. The stems are gone and there is nothing green coming from the plant. I know it is in shock but is there any chance of it regrowing and how do I care for my plant... or lack of plant, now? I have not removed the roots.

It may have been too far gone Ashley, if it is completely brown then I fear the worse; allow it several more weeks, for sometimes it will send out a new frond, but don't get your hopes up. Put it in an area with dappled shade, for Sunlight isn't that important at this stage and could exasabate the situation; keep it properly irrigated and cross your fingers. Nick
