Frostbitten Pygmy Palms

Question
We have several pygmy palms that seem to have frostbite.  We had temperatures into the 30's and all of the fronds turned brown.  Will they come back or do we need to trim off all the brown fronds, which on some of them are all the fronds.  it still has green where they connect to the truck, but that is it.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Cold stressed Palms are never an easy problem to solve; some will come back while others will ultimately fail; all you can do at this point is spray down the center of the palm (where the fronds emerge..) with a Copper Fungicide, to help deter any fungal problems from developing and exacerbating the existing problem, and keep it properly irrigated. The rest is in the hands of Mother Nature. New growth (if it is to occur..), will develop in the coming Months, from that center area, or it will continue to deteriorate making it necessary to take the Palm out and replace it.
