Injured Plumeria Help

Question
I have a 3 yr old plumeria that was doing very well in it's pot until this morning.  A careless construction worker decided it would be a good place to lean some wrought iron railing against(even though the plant is 3ft high??) and when it was brought to my attention by my neighbor, I noticed that white sap was seeping from two areas where the railing had damaged (one place is where the stalk branches to a V and another was a leaf that broke from the weight of the railing).  The V section is cut but not broken (approx 1/8 in deep) and the leaf area is cut.

My question is what can I do to help my plumeria heal properly??  I don't know if it is shocked from the damage or not (but I was at the audacity/thoughtlessness of these workers!) and would also like to know what to look for.

This is the second plumeria that has been injured or damaged by my landlords workers, and the first one did not survive being run over.  I am hoping to avoid losing another much loved plant, so really need your assistance/advice.

Answer
Hi Marcie, if the stalks are damaged then you should cut them and let the sections callous over for a few days, and then stick them in the ground near the parent plant, and they will eventually root and start a new plant; the area you cut them away from, will send out new growth also, so the parent plant will be fine (albeit a little stressed at first..) and the excised sections will fill in around it to make it look fuller.
