QuestionMy question is .Is there a way to start a new alamanda plant from an existing one. I have one that is amazing and would like to start one from it in another place in the yard. It is the vine type.
Thank you,
Liz
AnswerTake 3-4 inch tip cuttings (the terminal ends) dip in a rooting hormone and place them in a container of either moist vermiculite or perlite and put in a shady area; the cuttings should take about a week or 2 to begin forming roots, you will begin to see rejuvinated crown growth when the roots have taken hold, and at that point can transplant them. Another way is to put the tip cuttings in water, but the roots that form will not be as strong as the ones grown in the vermiculite.
