QuestionThis is probably a completely idiotic question. I was drawn in by the beauty and decent price tag of my hibiscus tree. I live in connecticut, so obviously i want to keep it as an indoor plant. My concern is the pests it comes with, if it's indoors will I have to worry about these nasty ugly things coming into my home? Can these mealybugs, white flies and scales scent the plant out and intrude on my home?
Thank you for any information.
AnswerHi Jaclyn, usually the only indoor pest you need to be concerned about is the spider mite, mealy bugs and aphids will not come into the house unless brought in on a host plant. Spider mites are the bane of house plants, and keeping the leaves misted will deter them, for they like a very dry and warm surrounding..Nick
