QuestionHi Nick..
I am from Southern India now living in Connecticut..And i really want to grow hibiscus and banana out doors. Are there any specific varieties of banana and hibiscus U would recommend. If so what are they. And what is the care that needs to be taken for the northeast winters.
AnswerThere are none that will survive year round in the cold a climate zone, but you could grow a Hibiscus in a container and move it inside by a sunny window when the weather gets colder; just know that once inside, it will not be as happy as it was outside and will need to be misted and cared for much more so then a normal house plant. There are dwarf Bananas that would also "exist" in container, but again, no fruit will develop and they will be stressed.
