Queen palm seed pods and frawn color

Question
I have 6 15' healthy Queen Palms. Questions:

1) One of them has 3 seed pods of which one is almost bare. The others two are full of green seeds. Should I remove the pods, or would that harm the tree? My concern is the pod falling off and killing a plant or child below.

2) It is late April, and I live in So. Cal. About 50% of the frawns are noticeably yellow/green. I don't see much new growth out of the center. Is this normal for this time of year? Again, they have always been healthy.

3) At what point should dying frawns be cut? Totally brown? Totally yellow? Yellow/green?

Thanks.

Answer
Hey Wes, ok, you can cut those seed pods off, in fact as soon as the pod (elephant tusk looking growth) appears, is the time to cut if off (easiest), no harm at all to the Palm; post Winter fronds will often be yellowish, due to cold stress, but new growth should commence shortly, just maintain proper irrigation and it is a good time for their first fertilizing. Cut fronds off when they are completely brown, for when the are green or even yellow, they are still functioning and taking in nutrients and moisture. Nick
