Questionhi nick,
what is the best kind - proportion of soil for foxtail palms when they are planted on the ground??
AnswerHi Vasilis, it is always best to plant them in the existing soil base, so that the roots will naturally expand out into it, otherwise (if you augment it with nice , rich soil..) the roots will stay in the desirable mix and make for a weak root system down the road. I call it tough love, but in the long run, the Palm will be better off for it. Make certain that you form a Berm around the Palm however, so when you water, it doesn't run off. Nick
