hoya carnosa compacta (hoya rope)

Question
Recently I have noticed my Hoya was dropping what I thought were kind of brown dust particals ... upon looking closer I see teeny tiny little spider webs and these nasty looking tiny VERY tiny "bugs" I also see this on my Hybiscus .... I have alot of hosue plants, these two are (so far) the only two infected. What can I use to get rid of these.

Thanks
(these are all indoor plants now as it is Novemeber in chicago)

Answer
Hi Nina, you have just been rudely introduced to the "Spider Mite", they are the bane of house plants that are in a dry environment; get yourself a quart spray bottle and put about a pint of household Isopropyl Alcohol in it, spray the effected parts of the plant and let it work for several hours, then take the plant outside (if feasible) and wash off the residual spray and dead mites. From that point on, mist your plants whenever you think of it, this will deter future infestations. Nick
