QuestionI have planted franboyan trees in Los Angeles and would like to know what to use for winter protection. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you
AnswerHi Jose, if they are small enough you can cover them with a frost blanket, this will suffice for your area, for I don't believe your temps will get low enough for further precautions. We have Royal Poincianas here in Florida also, and I have never seen any measures taken here (about the same climate zone as LA), so a frost blanket will do just fine, if they are too large, then just try to cover the top of the canopy.
