QuestionQUESTION: I recently bought a simi drwarf washington navel orange tree from lowes. It is in a a pot 12" tall and 13" across. it tipped over in the wind and lost some of it's soil. What should I replace it with.
Thanks so much.
ANSWER: Any light potting mix will do fine, but it really should be in the ground or a large container; if in a container, then be sure to line the bottom of the container with a drainage medium , such as gravel or crushed stone. Nick

QUESTION: Thanks for the soil help. You said it should be in the ground, or in a larger pot. I live in Indiana, i thought it would be to cold for outside here?
ANSWER: Oh, by all means in the ground then! just be sure to line the bottom of the container as I said before, and be sure to put it in a Sunny location. Nick

QUESTION: Thank you for responding, but i am not sure what you mean? Is it okay to plant my dwarf washington orange tree in the ground if i live in Indiana? or should it stay in a pot. (a larger one)?
I would rather put it in the ground but i don't want to kill it.
Thanks,
Mischale
AnswerOh my! I just read my response LOL....I am sorry Mischale, By all means do "NOT" plant it in the ground! Place it in a large container (as large as you can manage..) and be sure to line the containers bottom with a drainage medium, so that the roots are never sitting in standing moisture. A Sunny location for sure (at least 6 hours) and keep the leaves misted to deter Spider Mites. Again, sorry for the mistype...Nick
