QuestionI've just planted a majestic palm tree approximately four feet in height. How fast will it grow in height and to what maximum height?
Thanks for your answer.
AnswerHi John, "Majesty", Palms have a spreading type growth , unlike the usual vertical growth of many other Palms; they tend to develop long fronds from soil level, this keeps their vertical growth down to approximately 5-7 feet in containers (outside in the ground in sub-tropical conditions, they will get upwards of 10 feet). Morning Sun and frequent misting is the key to success with them, watch for spider mites and fertilize with a well balanced Palm fertilizer 3 times a year; water when dry and make sure you have a container with drainage material lining the bottom. If it is still in its nursery container, it will need to be changed out to a larger one, for the nursery containers are meant for temporary use only.Nick
