QuestionI recently saw a question posted to you about an Angel Trumpet that was 2 yrs old, never bloomed, and was dropping leaves, but I didn't see the answer. I bought a Brugmansia start at a gardening show this past spring, kept it in a sunny spot inside (in a large pot) until the weather was more inviting to venture outside. I repotted it into a huge container with the best soil, fertilizer, and daily watering. At first, it grew quickly, but then its growth stalled almost completely. We have had a an unusually hot summer but I have been very attentive to keep it hydrated and happy. Its leaves fall off constantly and new leaves emerge. There are no signs of blooms. Please tell me everything I can do to nourish and help this plant!!
AnswerHi Sara, any plant will stress for numerous reasons, be it a Brug.. or any other , what I need to know, is where you put it initially after it being indoors, for it needed to be adjusted, or as they say, hardened to the outdoors; did you put it in direct Sunlight right off the bat? or did you "harden" it, by putting it in a shady area initially. then slowly working it into the direct Sunlight over a period of several weeks or even a month. Brugs can take full Sun, but need to be acclimated first, if grown indoors. Let me know how you handled it....Nick
