QuestionWe are going to put a pool in our backyard with existing landscaping. I have 3 mature and beautiful Crape Myrtles and a gorgeous Bouganvilla. All the planting is around the perimeter of the yard. I was told the Crape Myrtles are too dirty for the pool and would need to be removed. I hate to do this! They are so pretty and so large. What are your thought please?
AnswerHi lisa, I am assuming that you are not putting up a cage, and if that is the case, then if you allow the Cape Myrtles to flower, and then prune them as the flowers begin to fade, you should be alright; without a cage, a pool can be a challenge from other factors more important, like insects and leaves from neighboring trees.
