viburnum hedge

Question
I have a 2 year old, 8 foot high, viburnum hedge (150 plants) that developed yellow/brown leaves, some with brown spots.  I sprayed with Organocide yesterday and it was dry for about 2 hours before the usual summer rain.  How long should it stay dry to be effective? Every day is 50% chance of rain!  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Cathy, Organocide is a combination insect/fungal concentrate; its not what I consider the best choice for a strictly fungal problem however. I would apply a Copper Fungicide early in the morning, and if you do get rain that day, just reapply the next morning also, between the two application it will have the ability to inhibit further fungal infection. Keep in mind though, that this time of year, with persistent moisture in the air, its difficult to control fungus afflictions. Nick
