QuestionI live in NC-my daughter gave me a bougenvilla in a hanging pot for Mothers Day- it was in full bloom and gorgeous-I cut off the dead blooms and now it has quit blooming all together-what can I do?
AnswerHi Susan, Bougs are not really a hanging plant, but nurseries can force any plant to exist for a period of time in a alien environment; the key is to be able to maintain this, and it just isn't meant to be. Bougainvillea are a tropical plant that need to be in the ground or in a very large container, in order for them to thrive; I would move it to a large container after pruning it back. You didn't mention where you live, so I can't tell you to put it in the ground. Nick
