How to plant a Red Plumeria cutting

Question
I received a Red Plumeria cutting as a gift.  The planting instructions were very vague.  There are two green tips at one end and, apparently, a dry, saw cut at the other end.  The drawing shows the forked part down, but is seems to me that the green tips on the forked end will be the leaves, and should be up.  HELP!

Answer
Hi Myra, your assumption is correct, the cut end goes into a container of light potting mixture, which will be kept damp, but not wet!....(or it will rot.), but for roots to form, it needs to be kept from drying out completely;keep the cutting in an area where it will get indirect light and in about a week or so, you should begin seeing those little green tips begin to leaf out. Once the leaves are established you can lift it and put it in its permanent location, be it a larger container or the ground if you are in a zone 8 or above. Nick
