Question
Hi, I just purchased a 15 inch Medi fan palm I will be transplanting within a week or so to a larger pot.  Is it safe to trim some of the shoots it has growing.  I have lovingly named it "Medusa" the pups are everywhere. I will probably shape a 5 point star not including the middle palm.

Hi Freddy, sure, its fine to trim some of them off, just don't leave it with to sparse a crown, for this is how plants photosyntesize, and it is never good to take too many fronds off any Palm; keep in mind that your Fan Palm will do better with morning sun and dappled shade in the afternoon, otherwise they are prone to tip burning of the fronds.
