QuestionI live in Michigan on the west side of the state. I have a Hibiscus Tree, but I am afraid I killed it. I brought it inside for winter and it immediately started getting little flying gnats all over it, so I put it outside and left it outside all winter. Did I kill it? Is there a way I can help it?
AnswerHi Shasta, scrape the bark near the bottom of the tree, if it is still green (The Cambium layer), then the tree is still alive, but it certainly sounds like it is stressed; Keep it irrigated, (not wet) and in a shadier area until you see new growth, then move it out into the sun. Nick
