QuestionWe have 6 bouganvilleas planted in the yard here in Phoenix, AZ. They very from 2' to 6' in heigth and from 2' to 6' in diameter. Some plants have finished blooming and the rest will be finished soon. They receive water from a drip system twice a week. My questions are, "is it alright to prune the long runners back? Only the long ones or the whole plant? And when should it be done?" Thanks, Dean
AnswerHi Dean, Yes, prune back the trailers or if you want to prune the entire plant back, thats fine also; bottom line here, is your Boug will respond positively to any pruning by sending out new growth, just know that you will be setting back any color, for the colorful bracts are in the terminal ends (the ones your will be pruning off..).Nick
