QuestionI have 4 Kimberly Queen ferns that have been sun scorched. Should I remove the burned fronds? Also, I split them last year (were 3 years old), should I remove the brown stubs of old fronds at the base of the plant? I'm just trying to get them healthy again. They were georgeous for 3 years but haven't looked so great since I split them.
AnswerHi Tammi, prune off the scorched leaves and then move the ferns into an area that gets dappled shade and only morning sun; keep them adequately watered, but not wet, just damp. They should begin to send out new growth for you that won't scald, now that they are out of the midday sun. Nick
