QuestionHello, I've been looking for information about caring for a foxtail palm that had a rough go of it during this past winter here in Orlando. The palm frons and new "shoot" turned brown, the nursery where we purchased this 2 plus years ago told us not to touch it until we were sure the colder weather was gone and then prune all the frons back. We did this and it's been almost a month and we are not seeing any new growth. Are we just being impatient or is there something we can do to encourage the new growth?? Thanking you in advance.

AnswerHi Anne, there is no way to predict whether your Palm will turn the corner for you or not; what you can do at this point though, is tug gently on that center spear, if it holds firm, then it is still viable "at this point in time", but if it should pull out, then the Palm is dead. Nick
