QuestionMy Royal Palm here in SW Florida is 8 ft high and 5 years
old. During past month or so, the tips of the fronds are turning brown. I do my usual watering once weekly and fertilize every 3 months. We had a couple of brief overnight freezes about 2 months ago --- ? cause.
Should I be doing anything about this problem ?

AnswerHi Bill, I am just south of you in Port Charlotte, and yes that cold snap we had in the beginning of Feb., was actually a light freeze, and many of the Palms are showing stress from it; eventually those fronds effected will shed themselves and the new emerging spears will open up to a nice uniform, healthy, color. Just make sure it is properly irrigated until our rainy season kicks in, and leave the rest to Mother Nature. Nick
