QuestionI have a tibouchina bush - had it cut back last Late Summer. When we returned to Florida for the Winter in January noticed the leaves curling and dropping off. thought it lacked water - not the problem. Fertilized it and still not the problem. Can not identify and bug on the leaves either under on top of the leaves but something is killing it as it produces new leaves and they just curl up start to brown at the tip and fall off! It was a beautiful bush when we bought the place last April and now it is dismal! Help! I am from the NW part of the US and not used to plants in Florida but have planted many plants with great success since we arrived found other bugs in plants and have treated with success! Love to garden so I am not a dummy!47m52
AnswerHi Bette, My Tibouchina got hit hard by the cold this Winter and is just now starting to send out new growth; the tips will brown because of the lack of humidity this time of year, but eventually it should begin to send out more lush growth as we work into Spring here, so I would be patient and in the mean time, just cut back any dead branches or stems, this will encourage new growth also.
