damage to lychee/avocado

Question
The trees were covered during the recent cold snap.  When I uncovered them the leaves look dried and brownish.  It doesn't look like the frost damage in the rest of the yard, but looks more like drought damage. They were watered regularly before being covered.  They had to be covered for 3 nights because of the weather (they were not watered while covered).  What do I need to do to try and save the plants?

Answer
Hi Lisa, go out and scratch the bark on the trunk, if it shows green then it was just cold stressed and will shed all its leaves and eventually send out a new flush; if however the scratch shows brown, then the tree is probably gone. If it is green, then just water weekly, but otherwise leave it be, mother nature will take over from there. Nick
