QuestionI have a very successful climbing bougainvillea which I would like to replicate in other sections of my house and fencing. To maintain the same color can I cultivate from the existing plant
AnswerHi Brian, I don't know your location, but it is not the right time here in south Florida to propagate, especially a tropical variety like your Boug; In the spring would be a better time, and the technique I would use, is take a lower branch and srape a section in the middle of it (about a 6 inch span) down to the inner tissue and bury it right there next to the plant, then keep it irrigated and within a couple of months it will root itself and you simply dig up the branch and sever it between the roots and the mother and then move your new plant to a new location. In the spring, get back to me if you need a refresher on it...Nick
