QuestionI planted a bouganvilla this spring, and it is growning like crazy, but never bloomed. I live near Hilton Head, S.C. and was wondering if it is too far north to flower.

AnswerHi Lee, Bougs do flower, but the color you see are actually colored bracts, the flower itself is a very small flower located at the terminal end; if you give a Boug too much water and fertilizer you will get an abundance of greenery, but very little color. The cooler temps that are in place now will encourage it to set color, but you need to cut back on watering it; this will also encourage color. Nick
