Question
Would severe trimming to the major branches {like trimming a grape vine} kill a large bougainvillea or will it come back in the spring  it is in San Diego.....Thank you

Hi Penny, trim it to your hearts content, they thrive on pruning and come back fuller and lose that lanky look, the only drawback is pruning them before the cool season, where the terminal bracts will not display the color desired and for all intents will not color out this winter. Nick
