QuestionIS IT OKAY TO REPLANT A RUBBER TREE THAT HAS OUTGROWN IT ORIGINAL CONTAINER AND IF POSSIBLE CAN IT BE PLANTED IN THE GROUND. I LIVE IT SOUTH TEXAS NEAR THE GULF AND HAVE BASICALLY WARM WEATHER MOST MONTHS AND A FREEZE OCCASIONALLY. THANK YOU, KAREN
AnswerHi Karen, if you have any chance of the ground freezing, then it can't be put in the ground; your best endeavor is to rachet up the container size. The freeze you refer to is critical, if the ground freezes below a foot then the plant will be toast, if it is a case where the ground doesn't freeze, then you might escape with crown damage only and the root ball escaping without critical damage. If this is the case, then mulch the ground you plant it in heavily and place a spot light by it for night protection. Nick
