Question
QUESTION: I have a few princess flowers zone 10.  Some of the princess flowers have lost
almost of their leaves, it still flowers at the top so it's not dead so what is the
problem?  They are all in the sun, what do I need to do?  Thanks for any help

ANSWER: Hi Ellen, Tibouchina needs to be watered on a regular basis, and also they react to insecticides or anything, sprayed on their leaves, by defoliating; I am inclined to think in your case though, that it is lack of irrigation that has caused them to shed their lower leaves. They will leaf out again however, so don't fret:)Nick

QUESTION: I know that it's not lack of irrigation, maybe could it be too much water?

...it could be, any plant will react to too much irrigation, the difference is, a plant that loses it leaves from lack of irrigation will come back, but if over watered, it usually won't due to damaged roots (rot). You didn't say if you  sprayed it with anything. Nick
