QuestionI have a 5 foot tall bougainvillea plant that is potted in a large whiskey barrel and brought inside during the cold months. I've had it in full sun and then tried part shade but it will not bloom until I bring it back into the house in the Fall. How can I get it to bloom in the summertime? I feed it with "Bud and Bloom Plant Food" without success. I don't water it until the leaves start to "wilt." Thanks!
AnswerHi Cindy, Bougs usually show their best color when the temps are cooler, summer is not their heyday by trait; this said however, try pruning it back, this should encourage new growth and hopefully some colorful bracts for you...and you are wise to keep the watering to a minimum:)
