QuestionHi NIck,
I brought a pachira twisted when it was looking a bit poorly. I over watered it slightly, before reading up and finding out that they liked catus soil and a larger pot with good drainage. So I changed all these things. I also stopped watering it.
But now the twisted branches right at the top at looking kinda rotten. It is only at the top 4 inches of two of the five 'twists' - shall I cut these off. Or would this be plant suicide?
AnswerHi Liz, these are more often then not, killed by people who buy them; unfortunately they often over water them, and this leads to root rot (the very symptoms you describe). Pruning it back at this point will not accomplish anything, I fear the damage may be done. Let it dry out and hope for the best, there really isn't anything else you can do at this point I am afraid:(..Nick
