QuestionNick, I live in So FL and noticed my tree that has been in my atrium (gets very little sun) forever suddenly began to wilt. Thought it was due to lack of water or ferilizer, did both, but no success. Please help! thanks.............Francine
AnswerHi Francine, how long has it been in the container? this could be the problem; a build up of salt from fertilizers will permeate a medium within 2-3 years and needs to be changed out. If it is indeed the problem, then pop it out of its container and change out the soil medium, remembering to put drainage medium along the bottom; flush the root system well after replanting, to eliminated any air pockets. Umbrellas are pretty problem free, so I'm pointing all my guns at the fact that its been in the same medium too long. The root ball is probably become very solid and irrigation isn't getting to the roots, but running along the sides, causing the wilt...regards Nick
