Questionhello...have a fan palm...most of the large leaves on all brown on the tips about 4 to 5 inches up the pointed part of the fan. it is in a corner and does not get direct light.
i use a plant fertilizer once every two weeks. water every 3 days...not too much.
also have an outdoor potted lemon tree with lot of lemons but no leaves...they have all fallen off...i think the problem is too much water? I have other smaller plants in the same large pot that require daily watering?
thank you for your answer in advance, regards, john
AnswerJohn, the fan palm likes a humid location, and low light, it seems the low light is being provided, but brown tips are an indication of low humidity, don't water it as much as you are doing, once every three days is too much, once a week is fine, and mist the leaves frequently to imitate a humid environment; do this and the new fronds should emerge nice and green for you. The lemon is a tree that doesn't like a lot of water, so your thoughts on that ate right on, the leaves falling off is a sure indication of too much moisture in the roots. You are going to have to separate the plants that are requiring constant irrigation from the citrus. Nick
