QuestionI planted three Foxtail palms this summer and got caught in a freeze where I was unable to protect them. They have been bit by low temps; all fronds are brown including the center spike. What, if anything, can be done to keep them going? I watered them, but cannot do it daily as this is a second home.

AnswerHi Ralph, I know what you mean, I'm here in SW Florida and I had damage to my landscape also; don't water them, thats probably the worse thing you can do right now, the palm is cold stressed and is not taking up nutrients, so the water will just sit at the roots and cause more harm then good. Mother nature will determine whether it lives or dies at this point. Nick
