QuestionHi Nick,
Well I am getting discouraged with my poor plants along one side of the
house. My beautiful Bird of Paradise plants have leaves turning brown with
holes in the leaves. Persian Shield are all dull, holes and leaves drying up.
The same with the Pentas and Mexican Petunia (which grows like weeds looks
half dead) My Jasmine looks like a piece of swiss cheese. Little tiny white
bumps seem to be on all the stems. Some leaves of all the plants look scaley.
Yesterday as I was cleaning up yellow and dead leaves I found a very ugly
wormy thing. Kinda like a slug but fat head with big eyes and 2 fangs then
tapering off, about 1" long. I think it was white with orange somewhere.
Nothing I want to see or touch again. It looks like I have a number of
problems going on. The rain, cold and humidity have not helped matters any.
I scanned some leaves but can't seem to see how I can attach the file to this.
Thank you for the great answers I know you will be giving me. Sure wish you
lived in the neighborhood! lol
AnswerOH Paula! you are nothing if not a challenge...ok...again, the cold and dampness is the main culprit, as you alluded to...however, the little demon you described I have not a clue about! The only thing I can think of is a White Grub, but not sure, Most plants are suffering now because its winter, but just keep them pruned back (dead wood and leaves) and they will respond when the night temps start climbing.....regards Nick
