Questionhi there, i have a super money tree that needs re potting. please could you advise me on the best soil to use and what drainage i should consider, i need to keep this baby happy!! thanks mandy.
AnswerHi mandy, You want to get a container at least twice the size of the existing root ball, line the bottom with about 2 inches of drainage medium (pea stone, gravel etc.) then use a good grade potting soil (not top soil!) place enough soil in the container so that when you put the root ball in, the junction of the roots and the trunk are about 2 inches below the rim of the container; make sure you don't plant it any deeper then it was in the existing container, you must be sure not to cover the junction of the roots and trunk, this is vital! now put a layer of ornamental stone along the top, this will prevent water from splashing dirt when you irrigate it, and will make the whole project look neater:) Nick
