QuestionQUESTION: We live in Las Cruces, NM and I have two potted bouganvilla on the patio. This is our first year here. What temps can the plants withstand without having to bring them indoors? If I bring them in, should I cut them back and, if so, how severely? Thanks
ANSWER: Sandy, Bougs are indeed cold sensitive, so I would bring the pots in during the night (if possible) and move them back out during the day, when night temps dip into the low 30's, they will be fine down to that temp. While on that subject (Bougs), refrain from watering them, they don't like it, and will give their best color when allowed to be dry. They do need watering about once every 2-3 weeks, but thats it. good luck Nick

QUESTION: How about moving into a garage with a row of windows? In and out again during the day is not an option...too heavy. How about the cutting back question?
AnswerOk, I thaught that might be a problem, if they get enough sun through those windows they should be fine until spring; no need to cut them back, if they stress out and you notice dead sections, then cut those sections back, otherwise let them be and again, resist watering them even moderately.
