Questionhi Nick,,,I bought this huge plant about a year ago,,it weighed almost 20 lbs. from a nursery..i have had no problem growning other tropicals,,but this one has lost about 70% of its leaves,,,i moved it into a south window to get more afternoon light,,,the leaves perk up towards the window,,there are a few new leaves sprouting,,i've kept it moist,,,the leaves just start drooping and fall off eventually, i can see them starting to turn brown , some of them fairly early...
any ideas
thank you susan
AnswerHi Sue,,what type of philodendron is it? Monterosa, split leaf? both of these like dappled shade and moist leaves, but careful with overwatering when in a container,,,herein may lie your problem. Take it out of its nursery container if it is still in it, and put it in a new medium with 2 inches of drainage medium at the bottom. follow up and let me know...Nick
