QuestionHi Nick. I have several beautiful large cuttings of yucca, varying from 5-9 feet long.I would like to plant these outdoors. What is the maximum height/length that these cuttings can be planted and successfully take root? Should they be put in water to grow some roots 1st or just stick them in the ground? I live just nth of Brisbane,Australia which is sub-tropical. Thank-you.
AnswerI would get at least a 12 inch piece and put it in moist vermiculite until it roots, then transplant to its location. You can put it directly in ground, but you will have to to it in a shady location where the ground will stay reasonably damp to ensure rooting. Nick
