Dracaena Marginata leaf yellowing

Question
Hi Nick,
I have three 6' tall Dracaena Marginata (stump) plants that have been in place for several years. Over the last 6 months or so they have been getting quite a few yellowing leaves that  dry up and fall off if I dont remove them first. I have tried lightening up on the watering but nothing seems to make any difference. Over all the plants look healthy. What could be causing this yellowing ?  Thanks for your help.
Joe

Answer
Hi Joe, I wouldn't be too concerned about that as long as they are the lower leaves; if they are upper ones then there is reason for concern. Drac's lose their bottom leaves as they grow, its their way of expanding their trunk and developing the palm tree type look that they are known for. Follow up Joe if this isn't whats happening, they are very resilient plants and except for overwatering and small insect problems like whitefly, scale or mealy bugs, they usually are very user friendly. Nick
