QuestionQUESTION: I have one of those large BOP's with dark blue/white flowers. The leaves seem to be systematicall turning brown then dying (sort of a white) from outer edge of leaf to inner. I water twice a week . It is in a semi sunny location. I am located in Southern Cal. I have fertilized with those water based fertilizers you connect to hose.
Any advice?
ANSWER: Sam, BOP's need the micro nutrients in a well balanced granular fertilizer, the solubles haven't got that, semi sunny location is fine, and as long as they are getting sufficient irrigation it should be fine also. Nick

QUESTION: Are the fertilizer spikes used for Palm trees good?
AnswerHi Sam, no, the reason being, is that spikes only get the nutrients to the roots that they are adjacent to; broadcasting granular evenly allows the entire root system to come in contact with the nutrients, therefore getting the optimum benefit to the plant. Nick
