dwarf plumeria

Question
Hi,
we have a dwarf plumeria that has been attacked by white fly and the goo is
all over the leaves.  we have sprayed and it seems like the flys are gone, but
the goo is still there and the tree is not looking very good, it has not bloomed
since the white fly infestation and the leaves are no longer shiney and green.
can we trim branches or anything else to help it recover ?

Answer
White fly is a tough insect to eradicate, they adults fly when you spray and then land when its safe, and lay eggs; the only way to control them is to keep a horticultural oil residue on the leaves; they won't land on it when it is wet, but the problem, again, is, they play the waiting game. The only thing to do is be consistent with the horticultural  oil and hopefully keep the larvae controlled.
