Question
My white bird of paradise is 18 feet tall and is starting to lean over my pool screen enclose.  I want to prune it before hurricane season but am not sure how to go about it.

I have been removing dead flowers and leaves.

Pat, follow each stem down to where it joins the main plant and just cut that stem at that point, you can't hurt it, so don't worry about that; prune the taller stems until you get it to where it is shorter then the cage and also keep the stems nearer the cage cut back also. thats it! easy, Nick
