QuestionI planted my bougonvilla in a coastal town where Isee beautiful blooming plants
that are planted in the ground. Mine has not yet bloomed and I planted it in
April. Could I be overwatering it
AnswerHi Jean, I get more questions on bougs then I think any other plant; you are correct in limiting the irrigation of your bougs, they don't like a lot of water, in fact, they produce their colorful bracts (mistakingly referred to as blooms) when stressed (allowed to dry out and remain so for a period of time). Water them sparingly but frequent low nitrogen fertilizing is beneficial. Bougs can be testy when it comes to coloring out, be patient and follow this lead and you will be rewarded...good luck Nick
