Answerjian, the plant itself grows to about 12-14 feet (the more common dwarf cavandish); the fruit is similar to the store bought variety. There are 100's of varieties of bananas throughout the world, but they all share the same characteristics; many of them are hard to distinguish apart, I recommend you see pictures of them by clicking on banana sites; the bunch that develops on a cavandish is different from other banana bunches, in that other banana's shed their male flowers after the bunch develops, whereas the cavandish stays attached...good luck Nick
