QuestionWe live in Southern Mexico and have over 70 bouganvilla plants around our yard. One only has leaves of both dark green and very light green. I noticed a rust/orange spots today. Never had it b/4. What do you think it could be? It gets lots of sun, lots of water.
AnswerBarb, Bougs can be very tempermental as far as leave discoloration and failure to produce colorful bracts; they do not like copious amounts of water which could be the reason your noticing what appears to be a rust fungus; I would cut back on the watering and spray them with a broadspectrum fungicide; keep in mind too much fertilizer will encourage more green leaves then colorful bracts...to sum it up, bougs respond better to less attention....good luck ..Nick
