Question
i live in the desert and i have two fern palm trees in a partially shaded area. they get plenty f water. recently weve had a heat wave they are not dead but very brown. how can i save them?

p.s. ive cut them down, to get rid of the brown and now they almost have no follage.

They should be ok.  If the weather is still very hot I would bring them in.  They do need humidity.  Mine did the very same thing.  I also cut off all of the dead leaves.  I then watered with fish emulsion to help it grow some new foliage.  The plant seems to be doing well now.  I water it everyday with a nice dose of fish emulsion once a week.  For your climate if the temps are still high I would bring it in and do the above.
