QuestionI hope you can give me a few suggestions for hardy plants to grow in an outdoor greenhouse.
I live on the West coast of Scotland, so we don't get terrible winters but it can be damp & grey. The greenhouse will be south-facing and will get sun (or what there is of it) thru most of the day. I don't have a heating system for it either. So I'm in a quandry as to what to fill it with in winter.
I hope you can give me some ideas. Thank you.

AnswerHello Rosemary,
There are many things you can grow in your unheated greenhouse. You can grow forced bulbs, cyclamen, camellias, citrus, primrose, pansies, chinese windmill palms (trachycarpus), azaleas and ivies to name a few. I would get yourself a book on greenhouse gardening that has a section devoted specifically to growing plants in cold greenhouses.
